Resumo em Inglês: | The aim of this research was to identify how hospitality articulates within Brazilian aircraft through the relationships established between the cabin crew and the clients of the airlines that make up ABEAR. The intention with the research was to understand what would be the real function of the flight attendant and whether he could be identified as the host of the airline, considering that in addition to being responsible for flight safety, the flight attendant is the intermediary between the Company and customers, and in turn is this professional who generally stays with the customer of an airline for a longer period. Its on-board function allows hospitality to play a complementary role to control the mechanisms of oversight, whose goal is to maintain flight safety. Throughout this research we tried to confirm or refute the following propositions: a) aircraft environment can be considered a place of reception; b) the training that the cabin crew receives can be considered a tool to develop the capacity to be hospitable; c) hospitality times may be considered to characterize the flight attendant as the host; d) the hospitality offered on board may represent or suggest certain passenger control mechanisms. The methodological procedures chosen indicate an exploratory research and a qualitative approach. A bibliographical research was carried out. The objective was to construct the theoretical reference in relation to hospitality. The websites of the airlines and the aviation documents were also investigated. For the research, the documents related to the flight attendants were analyzed; semi-structured interviews were carried out, firstly in a pre-test that guided the format of the final interviews. The final interviews were carried out with the President of ABEAR, flight attendants and with clients of the airlines, analysis of documents related to flight attendants was used documentary and bibliographical analysis, for the interpretation of the interviews was used the content analysis of Foucault (2012). It is concluded that flight attendants may represent the principal host of an airline but is not considered to be the only host. It was also concluded that flight safety is within the universe of hospitality, as one of the attributes of the host is the protection of the guest. |

Pretendeu-se entender qual seria a real função do comissário de voo e se ele poderia ser identificado no papel de anfitrião da empresa aérea, considerando-se que, além de ser responsável pela segurança de voo, é o intermediário entre a empresa e os clientes. Por sua vez, é este profissional que, de uma maneira geral, permanece por mais tempo com o cliente de uma empresa aérea. Sua função a bordo permite que a hospitalidade faça um papel complementar aos mecanismos de controle e vigilância, cujo o objetivo é manter a segurança de voo. A partir do problema desta pesquisa que é entender se as funções desempenhadas pela tripulação de cabine assegurando conforto e segurança aos clientes, caracterizam os comissários de voo como anfitriões e os clientes como hóspedes eventuais? Desta forma buscou-se confirmar ou refutar as seguintes proposições: a) o ambiente da aeronave pode ser considerado um lugar de acolhimento; b) o treinamento que a tripulação de cabine recebe pode ser considerado uma ferramenta para desenvolver a capacidade de ser hospitaleiro; c) os tempos da hospitalidade podem ser considerados para caracterizar o comissário de voo como o anfitrião; e d) a hospitalidade oferecida a bordo pode representar ou sugerir certos mecanismos de controle dos passageiros. Os procedimentos metodológicos escolhidos indicam uma pesquisa de caráter exploratório e de abordagem qualitativa. Realizou-se a pesquisa bibliográfica, cujo o objetivo foi a construção do referencial teórico em relação a hospitalidade. Pesquisou-se os sites das empresas aéreas, além dos documentos da aviação. Para a coleta de dados realizou-se a análise de documentos relativos aos comissários de voo e entrevistas semiestrututradas, primeiramente, em pré-teste, para a definição do formato final. As entrevistas foram respondidas pelo Presidente da ABEAR, pelos comissários de voo e pelos clientes das empresas aéreas. Para a análise dos dados obtidos por meio dos documentos relativos aos comissários de voo utilizou-se a análise documental e bibliográfica e para as entrevistas, a análise de conteúdo proposta por Foucault (2012). Conclui-se que os comissários de voo podem representar o principal anfitrião de uma empresa aérea, porém, não é considerado como sendo o único anfitrião. As entrevistas foram respondidas pelo Presidente da ABEAR, pelos comissários de voo e pelos clientes das empresas aéreas. Para a análise dos dados obtidos por meio dos documentos relativos aos comissários de voo utilizou-se a análise documental e bibliográfica e para as entrevistas, a análise de conteúdo proposta por Foucault (2012). Conclui-se que os comissários de voo podem representar o principal anfitrião de uma empresa aérea, porém, não é considerado como sendo o único anfitrião. Considerou-se também que a segurança de voo está dentro do universo da hospitalidade, pois um dos atributos do anfitrião é a proteção do hóspede. |

The aim of this research was to identify how hospitality articulates within Brazilian aircraft through the relationships established between the cabin crew and the clients of the airlines that make up ABEAR. The intention with the research was to understand what would be the real function of the flight attendant and whether he could be identified as the host of the airline, considering that in addition to being responsible for flight safety, the flight attendant is the intermediary between the Company and customers, and in turn is this professional who generally stays with the customer of an airline for a longer period. Its on-board function allows hospitality to play a complementary role to control the mechanisms of oversight, whose goal is to maintain flight safety. Throughout this research we tried to confirm or refute the following propositions: a) aircraft environment can be considered a place of reception; b) the training that the cabin crew receives can be considered a tool to develop the capacity to be hospitable; c) hospitality times may be considered to characterize the flight attendant as the host; d) the hospitality offered on board may represent or suggest certain passenger control mechanisms. The methodological procedures chosen indicate an exploratory research and a qualitative approach. A bibliographical research was carried out. The objective was to construct the theoretical reference in relation to hospitality. The websites of the airlines and the aviation documents were also investigated. For the research, the documents related to the flight attendants were analyzed; semi-structured interviews were carried out, firstly in a pre-test that guided the format of the final interviews. The final interviews were carried out with the President of ABEAR, flight attendants and with clients of the airlines, analysis of documents related to flight attendants was used documentary and bibliographical analysis, for the interpretation of the interviews was used the content analysis of Foucault (2012). It is concluded that flight attendants may represent the principal host of an airline but is not considered to be the only host. It was also concluded that flight safety is within the universe of hospitality, as one of the attributes of the host is the protection of the guest. |
