|Resumo inglês:||The determination of the species of Ficus subgenus Urostigma is a process that requires empirical knowledge of the species and vegetative phase recognition becomes more complex and difficult. In addition, the use of the fig trees by the Atlantic Forest communities have been lost over the years without even occur records this information and, most troubling, the extinction of this knowledge along to older informants. The leaf anatomy associated with conventional taxonomy represents a significant and important way in taxonomic troubleshooting the group, selecting useful characters for taxonomy of Urostigma subgenus. The development of dichotomous key to identify the species in vegetative stage, indicating other characters to clarify taxonomic problems as elect anatomic diagnostic characters to facilitate the recognition of species is essential within a group unenlightened. The objectives of this study was to present the leaf anatomical study of Ficus subgenus Urostigma (Gasp.) Miq. and the ethnobotanical study of Ficus L. The study of leaf anatomy and performed fenéticas analyzes confirm the importance of leaf anatomy as informative tool in Ficus taxonomy. From this work species of the subgenus Urostigma may be recognized in vegetative species and confused stage in determining when in a vegetative or reproductive stage may be differentiated from the leaf anatomical characters. The ethnobotanical study of species of Ficus held in 59 communities distributed among the states of Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in the Atlantic Forest biome, in the regions of the Mantiqueira, Serra da Bocaina, Serra do Mar and Zona da Mata Mineira represent a significant step in the recognition of this kind in several community activities. The ethnobotanical information and collection of plant material for herborization were held from April 2012 until May 2014 with 105 informants. The leaders and members of the communities were addressed through the "snowball" method. 16 native species of Ficus belonging to the subgenus Pharmacosycea and Urostigma, set in 18 categories of use were identified. The species with the highest number of citations were Ficus glabra, F. gomelleira and F. adhatodifolia. Ficus glabra and F. gomelleira were cited in all categories of use. All species were cited in the religious and mystical categories, shade and household items. Using the animals was the most representative fourth with 14 species. Food, leisure, medical and mobile use for occupied the fifth place with 10 species. This work expresses the relationship and the knowledge that traditional populations have of their environment, demonstrating the valuable knowledge about the uses of fig tree.|
