Resumo: This dissertation is a point of view about the cultural tourism in Rio de Janeiro from the analysis of a cultural equipment – the Theatro Municipal of Rio de Janeiro. The theme was developed with interviews that were realized with social actors who are involved in tourism and local culture, and also with an application and an analysis of profile research about the tourist’s opinion. The dissertation emphasizes the opportunity and necessity to improve cultural tourism as an expansion of the touristy activity with the formulation of public and private actions.
