Resumo: | Since the decade 1990, research of LGBTQ in Management and Organization Studies (MOS) has grown slowly but consistently. Meanwhile, the institutionalization of a gay-friendly agenda in organizations has advanced, characterized by policies and practices related to LGBTQ. However, little research has examined the experience of LGBTQ, especially in those gay-friendly organizations. The purpose of this research is therefore to investigate the experience of LGBTQ within organizations that have LGBTQ policies and practices. To this end, I conducted semi-structured interviews with LGBTQ that have worked in organizations that are signatories of the Fórum Brasileiro de Empresas e Direitos LGBTI+. The participants were selected through convenience and snowball sampling. Data generation and interpretation were grounded in a narrative paradigm, seeking to explore the lived experience of participants and as a means of interpreting and critically evaluating those experiences and meanings. The theoretical grounding lies in feminist and queer theories, exploring issues of performativity, intelligibility, and culture, in relation to how LGBTQ in organizations with LGBTQ policies and practices experience living intelligible, viable, and realizable lives. By doing so, my theoretical contribution to the field of LGBTQ studies in MOS lies in proposing the concept of organizational intelligibility. |

By doing so, my theoretical contribution to the field of LGBTQ studies in MOS lies in proposing the concept of organizational intelligibility.
