Esta identificação se faz necessária, tendo em vista os equívocos acerca deste público- alvo da Educação Especial. O estudo aborda discussões sobre o entendimento e a identificação dos estudantes com indicadores de AH/SD. A questão norteadora da pesquisa foi: De que forma é possível auxiliar professores dos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental a identificar alunos com Altas Habilidades/Superdotação no contexto escolar? Para tanto, como objetivo geral buscou- se compreender de que forma é possível contribuir com professores dos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental no processo de identificação dos estudantes com características de Altas Habilidades/Superdotação. Para isso, no decorrer da dissertação foram apresentadas informações pertinentes à Legislação embasadas, teoricamente, conforme a Lei de Diretrizes e Base da Educação Nacional - LDB (1996), a Declaração de Salamanca (1994), a Constituição da República Federativa do Brasil (1988), as Diretrizes Nacionais para a Educação Especial na Educação Básica (2001), entre outros a fim de explicar o comportamento cognitivo e emocional dos estudantes com indicadores de Altas Habilidades/Superdotação, suas características, forma de reconhecê-los, a importância de sua identificação e os encaminhamentos pedagógicos que entendem suas necessidades, desde a preocupação com o atendimento em sala de recurso para AH/SD. Utilizou-se como aporte teórico autores da área das altas habilidades e superdotação: Renzulli (1976,1985,1986,2004), Virgolim (2007),Pérez (2007, 20081), Alencar e Fleith (2001), dentre outros. A coleta de dados para o estudo foi feita por intermédio de questionário online, com os professores dos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental do município de Gramado- RS. Com os resultados da pesquisa foi desenvolvido um Guia de orientação básica para os professores dos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental, intitulado “Onde estão nossos alunos com Altas Habilidades/Superdotação?”, com o intuito de auxiliar e sensibilizar os professores sobre as necessidades e interesses desses estudantes, para que saibam como identificar, receber ou encaminhá-los para um atendimento especializado possibilitando, assim, uma educação de qualidade no desenvolvimento de seus talentos.The identification of students with High Abilities/ Giftedness in the school context is a necessity in order for them to develop their abilities and enjoy their potential with quality. This identification is necessary, considering the misconceptions about this target audience of Special Education. The study addresses discussions about the understanding and identification of students with indicators of ASD. The guiding question of this research was: How is it possible to help teachers in the early years of elementary school to identify students with ADS in the school context? Therefore, as a general objective, we sought to understand how it is possible to contribute with teachers from the early years of elementary school in the process of identification of students with characteristics of High Abilities/Giftedness. To this end throughout the dissertation, information pertinent to the legislation theoretically based on the Law of Directives and Basis for National Education - LDB (1996), the Declaration of Salamanca (1994), the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil (1988), the National Guidelines for Special Education in Basic Education (2001) were presented, among others to explain the cognitive and emotional behavior of students with indicators of High Abilities/ Giftedness, their characteristics, how to recognize them, the importance of their identification, and the pedagogical referrals that understand their needs, since the concern with the assistance in resource rooms for HS/SD. We used as theoretical basis some authors in the area of high abilities and Giftedness: Renzulli (1976, 1985, 1986, 2004), Virgolim (2007), Pérez (2007, 2008), Alencar and Fleith (2001), among others. The data collection for the study was done through an online questionnaire, with teachers of the initial years of elementary school in the city of Gramado-RS.
