This dissertation is a work of historical focus on German immigration to the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Therefore we discuss some related issues throughout the research. However, the research focuses in São Leopoldo, particularly in Kroeff Family, which has its origins in the German city of Merl in Palatine, Germany. For this particular look on the Family and discharged, resorted to living relatives, whom we interviewed in data collection as well as their respective views. The analysis thus follows the trajectory of this family of immigrants, especially Kroeff Jacob and his son, who settled in Hamburguer-Berg (current city of Novo Hamburgo), where he opened a small pension and a butcher. In view of the immigration officer, tried in official documents: AHRS APHRS in the Municipal Archives of Novo Hamburgo (Vale do Rio dos Sinos) and the Museu Visconde São Leopoldo. Back to life Kroeff Son of Jacob Kroeff, after some years, the shop grows and becomes a thriving slaughterhouse. The family accumulates wealth and power, which forces us to deal on the European state and its various aspects, including raids and son Kroeff Kroeff Netto in the state Legislature. Kroeff Netto is another picture to be scrutinized and that concludes our research.
