Resumo: Within a universe of urban and territorial transformations fostered by major infrastructure and logistic works, historical research has much to contribute to the understanding of the impact of these works in the city's spaces, that is, in the intensification of the urbanization process, and also, in the analysis of how the economic and commercial specialization of the territory of Anápolis occurred. It is assumed that both phenomena are reflections of the capitalist modus of production, reproduction and specialization of the territories. In this context, the present research aims to identify and analyze the urban transformations experienced by the municipality of Anápolis-GO in the period from 1871 to 1970 due to the installation of the Goiás Railroad. It is assumed as a central hypothesis that such modifications in the urban space, social and economic order derive from the installation of the railroad which, in turn, expresses the beginning of the process of integration of Annapolis with the national trade, that is, represents a start of the territorial and economic function that Annapolis represents nowadays.

Assume-se que ambos os fenômenos constituem reflexos do modus capitalista de produção, reprodução e especialização dos territórios. Nesse contexto, a presente investigação tem como objetivo identificar e analisar as transformações urbanas experimentadas pelo município de Anápolis-GO no período de 1871 a 1970 em decorrência da instalação da Ferrovia Goiás.
