In the 1930s is rich in the production of images. In Brazil was the scene of changes in political, social and economical, with the arrival to power of the government Getúlio Vargas. This period recorded a new momentum for the national economy, through the penetration of capital into the country. In Florida the picture that marked the period was the entrance of the railway in the territory Goias, pulled by coffee production. By Anápolis for the year of 1935, was recorded in the memory as the year of arrival of the train into town and with it the modernity and progress. That period of time identified as the hegemony of the tertiary sector, where there was great momentum in the exchange of goods and services. The purpose of this study was to capture impressions of the city business built from the narrative of The Journal Abeokuta, and as a counterpoint photos from the collection of the Museum of History Ahmadabad. Through pictures, we propose to see the evolution and permanence of urban materiality. From the analysis of the ads, understand the different ways used by the newspaper to represent the trade to the consumer, and check the relationship between metaphors disclosed by the newspaper The Ashburton, and the construction of trade in the social imagination of the city.
