O extrativismo de baru (Dipteryx alata Vog) em Pirenópolis (GO) e sua sustentabilidade

Resumo: The present paper refers to a case s study relatives to baru s extracting collected in Pirenópolis, a turist city in Goiás. Pirenópolis is articulated to the historical-cultural turism, and is visited because of its natural s beauties and explore the eco turism. Pirenópolis has another activity, not much spreaded, without relation with the turism: the baru s extracting, a cerrado s fruit, with high nutritional value. The baru has a almond, wth pleasant flavor, its most attractive for men and animals. The baru occurs naturally in all the continuos area of Brazilian Cerrado biome. In Pirenópolis, the baru has been explorated by extracting, and has been traded by Cenesc (Center of Sustaintable Development of Cerrado) and the Association of Jointed Development of Caxambu. This study checked that the baru s production and trading is artesanal. It has little knowledge about storage, packing and saling in large scale. It has two social categories distints, from the income s baru. In one side, have the peasants, owners of lands, in the other side, have the rural workers, that just sale their workforce. In this relation of production exist the mediators, that generally buy the baru from the extracting comunity, process it and sale it. The mediators are the people that make a profit with baru. Generally the baru is not the principal families s income, since its fruit s production is sazonal, occurs just once a year.

Pirenópolis encontra-se articulada ao turismo histórico-cultural, também é procurada por suas belezas naturais e explora o eco turismo. Possui outra atividade desvinculada da atividade turística ainda pouco conhecida: o extrativismo do baru, um fruto do cerrado de rico valor nutricional. O baru contém uma amêndoa, de sabor agradável, seu maior atrativo para o homem, e para os animais. O baru é encontrado naturalmente em toda área contínua do Cerrado brasileiro. Em Pirenópolis, o baru tem sido explorado através do extrativismo e comercializado pelo Cenesc (Centro de Estudo e Exploração Sustentável do Cerrado) e pela Associação de Desenvolvimento Comunitário de Caxambu. Constatou-se nesse estudo que a produção e a comercialização do baru nessa região ainda é artesanal. Há pouco conhecimento sobre armazenamento, acondicionamento e revenda em grande escala. Existem duas categorias sociais distintas, tendo em vista a renda proveniente do baru. De um lado, há os camponeses proprietários das terras e, de outro lado, os trabalhadores rurais que apenas vendem sua força de trabalho. Nessa relação de produção há os intermediários, que geralmente compram o baru da comunidade extrativista, beneficiam-no e vendem-no. São essas pessoas que geralmente obtém lucro com o baru. Geralmente, o baru não é a principal renda das famílias, uma vez que sua produção de frutos é sazonal, ocorrendo em apenas uma época do ano.Made available in DSpace on 2016-08-10T10:44:58Z (GMT).
