Resumo: This study aimed to investigate the superstitious behavior in university students. Participated in the experiment ten students from different courses, and of both genre with an average age of 25 years. The experiment was performed in one of the cubicles LAEC PUC Goiás equipped with a microcomputer, mouse, and a camcorder that remained bound during the execution of activities. Participants were instructed that during the experiment the word "congratulations" would appear on the computer screen and each occurrence of this word corresponds a point that could be exchanged for record of snack. The experimental environment was also equipped with a sheet of paper on which the participant should report what they were doing to the word "congratulations" to appear more often on screen. The study lasted seven minutes, where the first five occurred in the scheme of fixed time of 20 seconds and the last two minutes were related to extinction (TF 20s + Extinction). Of video recordings were taken from seven main categories such as "manipulation of objects, for example, 47 subcategories like" manipulates the keyboard, "" touch the leaf "and" touching the phone. The study showed that participants had a significant increase of responses during both phases of the experiment; most students did not detail the contingency superstitious and still have formulated special rules for the question that was part of the experiment. Thus, the relationships established were not contiguous and contingency and the effects observed can be explained on the basis of what was accomplished during the experiment.

Made available in DSpace on 2016-07-27T14:19:47Z (GMT).
