The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and the different impacts caused by your their deployment have held an enormous place in the literature. However, most of of the publications dealing with the implications, benefits and problems of incorporating ERP systems address private sector firms, which almost always study the implementation phase, but the number of studies they explore is not a significant as the post-implantation phase of these systems. With the increasing migration of public organizations in the use of such systems, as well as the evident commercial interest of enterprise applications vendors in this sector, the great importance of increasing knowledge on this subject is understandable. The study aimed to describe the dimensions influencing the process of stabilization of the implementation of the business management system in a large financial institution of the Brazilian public sector, based on the model Technology, Organization and Environment (TOE), which explain the adoption and implementation of a technological innovation by organizations in three perspectives: the technological context, the organizational context and the environmental context. The research was conducted in order to answer the following question: How is the post-implantation phase of the ERP system in a public financial institution occurring and what dimensions can influence its stabilization? Using the research strategy case study of a large-scale implementation of an ERP system in the public sector, the CAIXA/GEPEM project analyzed the inherent dimensions of its stabilization, in order to obtain more in-depth knowledge about it. As a results, the study identified the extent to which the established dimensions influenced the stabilization of the system in the post-implantation phase, which variables had a higher or lower quality level to the project as a whole and, finally, verified the benefits involving the organization studied.
