Resumo: | Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) contribute significantly to the generation of job opportunities in Brazil. In order for them to obtain a competitive advantage in their business, which makes it possible to increase productivity and reduce costs, it is necessary to develop the incremental innovation of their products and processes. However, the lack of knowledge, experience and management skills are some of the limiting factors that hinder their growth and are responsible for increasing death rates in this segment. National and international programs to leverage the incremental innovation of SMEs, aim to help entrepreneurs to perform better in their activities. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the role of mentors in these programs and the interplay between learning and innovation in these enterprises. For this reason, it is important to analyze the success factors and obstacles of innovation programs for SMEs. This research aims to identify what is the role of mentors in innovation programs for SMEs, by introducing an approach to the Brazilian ecosystem. For this analysis a qualitative questionnaire will be applied to the mentors and mentees of the Local Innovation Agents and Brazil More Productive programs. |

Para que elas obtenham vantagem competitiva em seu negócio, que possibilite o aumento da produtividade e a redução de custos, é necessário desenvolver a inovação incremental de seus produtos e processos. Entretanto, a falta de conhecimento, experiência e habilidades gerenciais, são alguns dos fatores limitantes que prejudicam o seu crescimento e são responsáveis pelo aumento da taxa de mortalidade desse segmento. Os programas nacionais e internacionais para alavancar a inovação incremental das MPE, têm como objetivo ajudar os empreendedores a terem um melhor desempenho em suas atividades. É preciso, portanto, entender o papel do mentor nesses programas e essa inter-relação entre o aprendizado e a inovação nessas empresas. Por esse motivo, é importante analisar os fatores de sucesso e os obstáculos dos programas de inovação para as MPE. A presente pesquisa tem por objetivo identificar qual é o papel dos mentores nos programas de inovação para as MPE, trazendo uma abordagem para o ecossistema brasileiro.
