Resumo: This study aims to provide a reflection on the General Data Protection Law, analyzing the impacts it generates on the subject of data protection in Brazil. In the face of constant social transformations, a law that aims to protect the fundamental rights of freedom, privacy and the free development of the personality of the natural person generates significant impacts in various spheres of society. This study will analyze the LGPD and the constitutional rights to privacy and data protection, paying special attention to the impact of the LGPD on the protection of personal data in the country. The research is classified as bibliographic using the deductive, historical and descriptive method and will address topics such as "Information Society", fundamental rights and rights inherent to personality, data protection in the European Union and data protection in Brazil.

Diante das constantes transformações sociais uma lei que tem por objetivo proteger os direitos fundamentais de liberdade, de privacidade e o livre desenvolvimento da personalidade da pessoa natural gera impactos significativos em várias esferas da sociedade. Ele analisará a LGPD e os direitos constitucionais à privacidade e à proteção de dados dando especial atenção aos impacto da LGPD na proteção de dados pessoais no país.
