Efetividade das ações de controle da hipertensão arterial sob a ótica dos profissionais da atenção primária à saúde

OBJECTIVE: Evaluate actions to control hypertension in primary health care services from the perspective of the professionals in the family health strategy in Campina Grande/ PB/ Brazil. METHODS: cross-sectional study, carried out with 28 teams of health professionals, between October and December 2010. It was worked with 22 items of five dimensions that evaluate the effectiveness of actions for hypertensive patients (home visit, adherence/ link, cast of services, coordination and focus on the family). It was employed the factor analysis to regroup the items and it was checked the index of effectiveness within each group. RESULTS: The factor analysis separated the material into three factors. The item information about hypertension and its control presented factorial load of 0.819 in factor 1. In factor 2, the item related to the domiciliary visit to hypertensive patient obtained a factorial load of 0.753. The item about information of the medicines used for the treatment of hypertension presented a factorial load of 0.794 in factor 3. The factor 1 showed that the variables that are in it explain 21,3% the variation in the studied group. The index of effectiveness ascertain that items with larger factorial loads resulted in a percentage less than 75%, recommended for this study. CONCLUSION: Urge the need to stimulate and promote achievement of health education in the studied health units, aiming at awakening in hypertensive practices of a healthy lifestyle, contributing to the reducing disease-related grievances and impacting the effectiveness of the service.
