The present work aims to identify the existence (or not) of playful practices developed in youth and adult education, as secondary objectives, to analyze the impact of these practices in the development of the teaching-learning process of the students at EJA. We consider in this work that playing is an indispensable resource for any stage of school education. It is necessary to consider the activities that contribute to the student‘s development and to make this teaching strategy an important link between teaching and learning. Therefore, we believe that playing is a necessary strategy for human development. The sense of playful activities is of great importance for the human being, not only in the beginning, but throughout his life, and must be part of daily life, since it facilitates the pleasurable construction of living and social coexistence. Finally, we will reflect on the methodological paths that the research will be built on. It should also be pointed out that the present work consists of qualitative research. For the methodology of the research, it will be initiated by a bibliographical review, in order to base our discussions. We will also adopt the methodology of participant observation, which enabled the monitoring of the researched reality, and, finally, the categories of data analysis of the field searched and the resulting analysis based on the Content Analysis technique. The research field was the Municipal Reference Center for Youth and Adult Education, located in the downtown area of Rio de Janeiro.
