The research has as a goal to analyze the knowledge in the area of sexuality of people with intellectual disability from their experiences, having as a base the self-advocacy and the Transition Individualize Plan (TIP). Justifies in the premise that education, from a dialectic perspective, is connected to the process of social transformation, acquiring dimensions that surpass the walls of school and allow us to analyze the representations built around the subjects with intellectual disability and their sexuality. This theme is important because deepen studies and shows the potential of human beings, reveling part of personal trajectories, educational, world experimentation, developments, learning, joys, difficulties, discoveries and challenges that lead to the making of a (TIP) in the subject of sexuality. The methodological interfaces that support the group of procedures made during the investigation process of this study are in a quality base, through an action research, having as instruments to collect the data interview meetings and the application of an Inventory of Abilities in Sexuality (IAS). The field research was made in a Specialized Center to Professional Education to people with Intellectual Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with the participation of four students, four family members and one student, Teresa, that acted as a forming agent to the self-advocacy in sexuality. We highlight that sexuality is a subject that has gained attention and, undeniably, is a huge concept and with a historical innuendo, intrinsic to every human being, part of a culture and with the marks of its historical moment. The data analyses revealed that the protagonism of a woman, self-advocacy with ID, that speaks about sexuality, is a factor that can give new meaning to the way that society perceives those people. And, still, the IAS has the potential to give information that will help the TIP in the subject of sexuality, proposing programs of transition to people with ID, with a goal to build a body of work in sexuality. This way, it becomes possible to eliminate the myths that make living and listening opportunities of people with ID far from reach, bringing to the center of the debate the transformations that are unconditionally implied in the biological and psychosocial development of every human being, related to aspects of the body, health, self-care and self defense. We hope that the research brings relevant contribution to the educational sceneries to the contemporary Brazil. This because there is a necessity to give new meaning to the way we perceive and costumes around the world, besides being needed to value and reconstruct the knowledge of youth and adults with ID that talk about themselves, about sexuality and self-defense themselves.
