"Eu não parei, a informação não para": como os primeiros anos da pandemia de Covid-19 impactaram o campo, os(as) agentes e o habitus de classe jornalístico no Ceará

This work investigates what transformations the first two years of the Covid-19 pandemic (2020-201) caused in the journalistic scene in Ceará: how they affected both the journalistic field and its subfields, the class habitus (repertoires of practices and conduct manifested by professionals) and agents - the journalist subjects. To this end, we adopted Bourdieu's Theory of Practice and its conceptual triad as a theoretical-methodological contribution: habitus, field and capital, in addition to secondary categories that are also important for the construction of our object: hysteresis, play, interest, positions and dispositions. The Bourdieusian theory and methodology were used in analyzes of national and local reports on journalism and Covid-19; in addition to questionnaires and interviews with journalists from Ceará. We point out as findings of the thesis: 1. Rupture of class habitus aggravated by the massive adoption of home office during the pandemic, but started already in the convergence/integration of newsrooms. 2. Aggravation of precarious ways already manifest in the habitus of the journalistic class, such as: atomization of the worker, stimulation of competition, naturalization of instability in the field. 3. Worsening of the precariousness experienced by women journalists, especially with the crossing of multiple class habitus (professional, maternal, domestic) in the same field. 4. Experiences of breaking the illusio caused by the lack of structure to work and the intensification of work done by and for platforms. As post-pandemic legacies, the research points to good acceptance by workers of the hybrid work model; and the commitment to their own psychological well-being and that of other workers.
