Cotidiano e relações de gênero em famílias de mulheres provedoras. 2008. 218f. – Tese (Doutorado) – Universidade Federal do Ceará, Programa de Pós-graduação em Sociologia, Fortaleza (CE), 2008.This thesis aimed to perform a comparative study between nuclear families, couple with children kind, from both working and middle classes, of the city of Fortaleza, regarding the implications of the “familiar feminine provision” unique or shared with the husband/partner, within the daily family life relations. As a qualitative research, the thesis was developed so as to investigate similarities and differences between families from both classes in their everydayness, in the performance of men and women “roles” and in the hierarchical and power systems, in a way to identify sameness or change in the experience of the “familiar being” into contemporaneity. This thesis brings data about the “feminine familiar provision” phenomena within an historical perspective, with the clarity that this reality does not consist in a recent fact. Data presented and analyzed are resulting from the performance of semi-structured interviews with 19 women and 7 men, using a gender perspective in the analyses. We concluded that women did not manage to modify relations of authority, hierarchy and power within the family, into a relation of equity, even when assuming the condition of unique or main provider.Esta Tese teve por objetivo realizar um estudo comparativo entre famílias nucleares, do tipo casal com filhos, de camada popular e de camada média, da cidade de Fortaleza, acerca das implicações da “provisão familiar feminina” única ou compartilhada com o marido/companheiro, nas relações do cotidiano familiar. Como pesquisa qualitativa caminhou no sentido de investigar semelhanças e diferenças entre as famílias das duas camadas sociais na cotidianidade, no desempenho de “papéis” de homens e mulheres e nos sistemas de hierarquia e poder, a fim de identificar permanências e mudanças na vivência do “ser família” na contemporaneidade. Traz dados sobre o fenômeno da “provisão familiar feminina” numa perspectiva histórica, com a clareza de que essa realidade não constitui um fato recente.Os dados apresentados e analisados são resultante da realização de entrevistas semi-estruturadas com 19 mulheres e 7 homens, adotando nas análises uma perspectiva de gênero.
