Resumo: Entrepreneurship has the potential to be a strong engine for economic growth, however this impact on GDP has a lot of influence on the type of entrepreneurship that develops in a nation. Entrepreneurship that is linked to innovation, very common in developed countries, impacts the growth of the economy more robustly, it is entrepreneurs for opportunities. While entrepreneurship by necessity, common in less developed countries, impacts little or negatively the GDP. Entrepreneurship by necessity is more associated with unemployment and the lack of opportunities. In this dissertation, we sought, using a self-regressive vector model, to analyze the impact of entrepreneurship in Brazil over time and thus try to understand what types of entrepreneurships the country is developing. The Individual Microentrepreneurs, GDP, selfemployment and unemployment were used as variables. The results showed that in the short term these entrepreneurs increased economic growth, although after some periods this relationship became negative, showing that this type of entrepreneurship managed to capture a portion of entrepreneurs for opportunities.

O empreendedorismo que está atrelado a inovação, muito comum em países desenvolvidos, impacta de modo mais robusto o PIB da economia, e é conhecido como de oportunidade. Já o empreendedorismo por necessidade, comum em países menos desenvolvidos, impacta pouco no crescimento econômico, estando mais associado ao desemprego e a falta de oportunidades para obtenção de renda. Nesta dissertação, buscou-se por meio de modelo de Vetores Autorregressivos, analisar o impacto do empreendedorismo no crescimento econômico do Brasil ao longo do tempo, e dessa forma tentar compreender quais tipos de empreendedorismo são mais evidentes no país. Utilizou-se as variáveis: microempreendedor individual (MEI), produto interno bruto (PIB), emprego por conta própria e desemprego. Os resultados mostraram que, no curto prazo, esses empreendedores aumentaram o crescimento econômico, apesar de após alguns períodos essa relação se tornar negativa.
