This thesis aims to make the life story of four university professors: Ciro Nogueira Filho, José Maria de Sales Andrade Neto, Luís Carlos Uchoa Saunders e Roberto Claudio Frota Bezerra. They devoted their lives to the Federal University of Ceara. Specifically search with temporal clipping the years 1960 to 2013, aims to (i) meet the individual phenomena, school, family history professional / academic and socio-political university teachers, in order to reconstruct the history of the Federal University of Ceará; delineate (ii) critical assessments about the role of the Federal University of Ceará Ceará in the educational context and sociopolitical. Qualitative research focused on Oral History of Life, is supported with theoretical contributions in the areas of Philosophy, History and Education, with which the concepts of memory, Critical Thinking, Oral Life History and Social History guard consistency. The methodological approach of the research was carried out sequentially from July 2012 to July 2013, and was held in three tenses and moods: bibliographic, documentary and field research, subsidized by the technique of semi-structured interviews in order to guide the autobiographical narrative. The results elucidated that the recovery of the history of life (family, school, professional / academic and socio-political) of teachers, subjects in this study, allowed the rescue of the history of the Federal University of Ceará to identify different aspects of higher education and provide information about the quality, equity, efficiency of teaching, research and extension, and internalization. The positioning of the researcher towards this scenario appears at the end of this thesis, in the form of critical assessments about their social role in the educational and socio-political Ceará.
