Dissertação (Mestrado em Engenharia de Teleinformática) – Centro de Tecnologia, Universidade Federal do Ceará, Fortaleza, 2010.Faced with regulatory goals of quality continuity of electric power supply granted by ANEEL to electricity distributors, their fulfillment depends mainly on minimizing both time to return the system failover, and the number of failures caused by human error. In view of the apparent lack of qualified people in the electricity sector, intelligent systems, such as expert systems, which will assist the operation and supervision of electrical systems, have a promising future. This work proposes the project and the implementation of an expert system, where the knowledge base is structured from the modeling of the studied electrical system failure modes, formatted through failure tree analysis technique. The proposed architecture for this expert system is composed from the following modules: central unit, referred as Main Module, User's Interface, Events Manager and Statistic Manager; Work-based online reading Tags of the relays in the protection system of the substation under study, compared to the fault tree specific to that substation, providing the root cause of failure occurred in a deterministic or statistical to operator of the system. Such information is crucial for the human expert to take the right decision and restore the electrical system in the shortest time possible.Diante das metas regulatórias de continuidade do fornecimento de energia elétrica atribuídas pela ANEEL às distribuidoras de energia elétrica, o cumprimento delas depende principalmente da minimização do tempo de retorno do sistema pós-falha, bem como do número de falhas provocadas por erro humano. Em vista de uma evidente carência de pessoas qualificadas no setor elétrico, sistemas inteligentes, tais como sistemas especialistas, que venham a auxiliar a operação e supervisão de sistemas elétricos, possuem um futuro promissor. Neste trabalho, propõe-se o projeto de um sistema especialista, cuja base de conhecimento é estruturada a partir da modelagem dos modos de falhas do sistema elétrico em estudo, formatados através da técnica de árvore de falhas. A arquitetura proposta para este sistema especialista é constituída dos seguintes módulos: unidade central, denominada Módulo Principal, Interface com o Usuário, Gerenciador de Eventos, e Gerenciador Estatístico; o sistema desenvolvido funciona baseado na leitura on-line do Tags dos relés do sistema de proteção da subestação em estudo, comparando com a árvore de falhas específica daquela subestação, fornecendo a causa-raiz da falha ocorrida de forma determinística ou estatística ao Operador do Sistema.
