The present dissertation has the theme "We demand ourselfs all the time. For God it must be done well": psychodynamic analysis of the work of Protestant pastors in the context of a Pentecostal church. It is adopted as a general objective of this study to present a contextualized discussion about how the organization of work in the Church of the Foursquare Gospel is characterized and its reflexes in the dynamics of the suffering and pleasure of the pastors of these institutions. The following are specific objectives: a) to characterize the organization of work in these churches; b) identify the meanings that IEQ pastors attribute to their work; c) analyze the defensive strategies used by these leaders to deal with the adversities and difficulties of the daily life of their work. It is emphasized that in the Foursquare Gospel Church the pastor is assigned responsibilities related to both the spiritual area of his / her leadership and to the management of the congregation's assets and finances, team development, and achievement of established goals of the entity. Taking as a reference the psychodynamics of work, in a dialogue with Socio-Historical Psychology and Historical Dialectical Materialism, the complex relationship in the dimension of pleasure and suffering in the work of pastors is addressed, highlighting in this dialogical course categories as organization of work, working conditions, labor relations, subjective mobilization, pleasure and suffering, and health. It is concluded that despite the existence of pleasure in the pastoral office - as, for example, when someone converts - the analysis of the data obtained also shows that the activities and responsibilities of the pastors, together with the considerable degree of collection to which they are exposed in their daily work, characterize elements that point to the intensification and precariousness of work, which can lead the individual to pathogenic suffering and, in fact, lead to the implementation of defensive strategies that often lead to alienation.
