Resumo: | This dissertation discusses to what extent the State Secretariat for Social Development, the State Secretariat for Human Rights and Popular Participation, and the Public Ministry of Labor have confronted child domestic labor in the State of Maranhão based on the determinations of ILO Conventions 138 and 182. Thus, in the first chapter, the methodological path adopted in the research was addressed, situating it in the qualitative approach, inductive reasoning, monographic method in conjunction with the socio-legal-critical method and procedural techniques: documentary and bibliographic review. The hypothesis is that the initiatives to combat child domestic labor promoted by the institutions investigated contributed to dealing with the issue, especially in the prevention and eradication of early work. The second chapter dealt with the concepts of child labor and child domestic labor, linking them to some international legal frameworks and programs related to combating the issue. Consequently, the third chapter examined the protection of children in the context of domestic child labor, based on the actions of the ILO and the conventions analyzed. In the fourth and last chapter, the focus was on domestic child labor and the actions of institutions in Maranhão. Based on the results collected, the hypothesis was partially confirmed, confirming that the institutions investigated promote and prevent early work. However, some of the actions taken by these institutions do not contain information that would allow us to analyze the effectiveness of the measures. |

Assim, no primeiro capítulo foi abordado o percurso metodológico adotado na pesquisa, situando-a na abordagem qualitativa, raciocínio indutivo, método monográfico em conjunto com o método sociojurídico-crítico e técnicas de procedimento: documental e revisão bibliográfica. A hipótese formulada é que as iniciativas de enfrentamento ao trabalho infantil doméstico promovidas pelas instituições investigadas con tribuíam no enfrentamento do tema, especialmente na prevenção e erradicação do trabalho pre coce. O segundo capítulo tratou sobre os conceitos de trabalho infantil e trabalho infantil do méstico, relacionando-os com alguns marcos legais internacionais e programas relacionados com o enfrentamento do tema. Por conseguinte, no terceiro capítulo foi averiguada a proteção dos infantoadolescentes no âmbito do trabalho infantil doméstico a partir da atuação da OIT e as Convenções analisadas. No quarto e último capítulo o foco foi o trabalho infantil doméstico e a atuação das instituições no Maranhão. A partir dos resultados coletados, confirmou-se par cialmente a hipótese, constatando-se que as instituições investigadas promovem e previnem o trabalho precoce.
