Resumo: This work aims at investigating the practices of orchestration for wind ensembles and groups highlighting them as a common language of scripture to those instrumental formations. Thus, the initial proposal of this work is the detailed study of these organisms bases around the world, recognizing in their historically proven practice, one of the pillars to support the presented argumentation. Also relevant is the recognition of the timbre as an essential element to the composition, leading music production to higher standards of orchestral works. Finally, analyses of works published after the Decade of 1990 are presented in order to highlight its more idiomatic contours of orchestration for bands and wind ensembles.
