Resumo: | The pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, a new coronavirus, has become a health emergency, causing thousands of infections and deaths worldwide. Due to its transmissibility, preventive measures depend on changes in people's lifestyle and behavior, changing the way of being and living in society. When it comes to changes in life and behavior, adolescents and young people can be particularly affected by these changes, and these individuals are more vulnerable to situations that require resilience and quick adaptation. The study is part of the qualitative axis of the national survey “Convid Teens – research on behaviors” and sought to understand from the perspective of adolescents, the changes in life during the pandemic, with the interpretation of social scripts, according to John H. Gagnon. Five focus groups were carried out with adolescents aged between 12 and 17 years, totaling 27 participants, and the adolescents were recruited by the researcher through the snowball method. The Structural Analysis of Narration was used to unveil the data content. Adolescents interviewed pointed out three major repercussions of the pandemic period: adaptations in interpersonal relationships, with reflections on family, friendship and teaching relationships, adapting to online teaching was the biggest challenge for students during the period, causing problems such as lack of access to classes, learning difficulties and less social interaction, especially with friends. On the other hand, family life increased, parents and children spent more time together, and some families reacted positively demonstrating greater rapprochement and dialogue while others, increased conflicts and relational difficulties. Mental and emotional health also suffered great repercussions, especially related to social isolation, fear of infection and reduced social interactions. Among adolescents, reports of increased anxiety, worry, sadness and the emergence of depressive states were common, thus entitled by themselves, besides, concern about the future and difficulty in dealing with the postponement of dreams and plans, within existing social inequities. The adolescents were explicit in their assessments about the social effects caused by the pandemic considered in the bulge of to the individual's general social roles, and the collectivity, explained in so the behavior and attitudes of citizenship reasoned on the general rules and guidelines of the health authorities during the pandemic. Thus, individual and preventive care with the health and safety of other people were seen as social norms that must to be followed by everyone. Therefore, the results show to short, medium and long-term consequences and responsibility in the lives of adolescents considering the scripts interactional, intrapsychic and social spheres. The physical and mental health and social development must be priorities for all health institutions, teaching and social, with more comprehensive look at the particularities of this group, and for the situation discussing social inequalities growing in the country. |
