Resumo: | With the aim to study the dynamics of serum after administration of the Lithothamnium calcareum, an experiment was made which evaluated the supplementation capsules of the diet of dogs containing Lithothamnium calcareum in the following levels 0, 0.5, 1 and 1.5 g / day. The experimental design was completely randomized with four treatments and four repetitions and dogs of the breed Fox Paulistinha were used, totaling 16 animals. Therefore, we analyzed the dynamics of serum of the total calcium, ionized calcium and albumin adjusted calcium, albumin, phosphorus and alkaline phosphatase. It was also assessed the apparent digestibility of diet with supplementation of Lithothamnium calcareum, besides verifying the influence of Lithothamnium calcareum on the genetic diversity of dogs' feces. It can be concluded that the levels of serum albumin and alkaline phosphatase did not fit the mathematical models studied, the levels of total calcium, ionized calcium and albumin adjusted calcium showed the same quadratic and cubic behaviors, the serum phosphorus level generated cubic equations in the supplementation levels 0.5 and 1.5 g / day and it was found that the phosphorus and calcium behaved similarly. There were no significant regressions (P<0.05) for digestibility of protein, ether extract , gross energy and total dry matter which were associated with supplementation of Lithothamnium calcareum in diet for dogs up to 1.5 g / day of supplementation in the diet. We can conclude that the Lithothamnium calcareum did not alter digestibility of the diet. The technique of gel electrophoresis with denaturing gradient (DGGE) was suitable for DNA analysis of the dog´s fecal microbiota , and it was found that administration of up to 1.5 g / day of Lithothamnium calcareum did not alter the fecal microbiota of these animals. |
