The research aimed to develop a workshop to produce philosophical texts based on the theme “Happiness”, in a 2nd year High School class. The choice of this proposal considered the fact that students at this educational stage, for the most part, do not have the habit of reading and, consequently, there is a lag in text production, especially philosophical texts. This scenario occurs, among other factors, because these texts require specific skills for their understanding and interpretation. Therefore, due to the complexity of philosophical writing, students need to read and reread; Furthermore, it is necessary to make a bridge with the time of production, as philosophical thoughts match the period of experience of their author, thus, reflection and criticism need to be contextualized according to time and then be questioned and argued. Besides of these, in order to provide greater stimulation for the necessary reflection, the use of methodological practices in Philosophy Teaching that proposed overcoming students' difficulties in reading and writing experienced during Philosophy classes in High School was privileged. Under the bias of a bibliographical review of the work of Epicurus of Samos - Letter on Happiness (to Meneceus), it was possible to propose relevant relationships, as well as the theme of happiness and its contribution to the teaching of philosophy in contemporary times. From this perspective, using the Letter on Happiness (to Meneceus) as the base text of the “Philosophical Text Workshop” proposal, we intended to analyze how the letter could stimulate in students not only an interest in Philosophy, but also whether it could help to resolve difficulties, encouraging the production of philosophical texts. This work used a qualitative bibliographic study to develop teaching strategies that are relevant to teaching practice and student development in High School Philosophy classes.
