This research aims to explore the influence of women on the Brazilian cultural and musical scene in the 1970s and 1980s, a period marked by the military dictatorship. Our focus will be on the singers Luhli (Heloisa Orosco Borges da Fonseca), born in Rio de Janeiro, and Lucina (Lucia Helena Carvalho e Silva), originally from Cuiabá. Luli and Lucina were singers, composers and musicians who formed a partnership in the early 1970s. They actively participated in music festivals and entered the emerging independent record market of the time. This entry into the independent market was a way to release their work freely, without the constraints imposed by the traditional record labels of the time. This study aims to show the trajectory of these artists, investigating their musical and social influences, such as their hippie experience, offering a deeper understanding of this specific period. To achieve this goal, several sources will be used, including research in digital newspaper archives, interviews available online and, especially, the music of these artists as a valuable source of analysis. In addition, the work will establish a critical dialogue with theoretical references that explore history and music, understanding music as a historical source and a construction within its time. The study will also address the history of women and gender, highlighting how women over the years have suffered from the erasure of their stories and silencing in the public space.
