Esse fenômeno desperta nosso interesse, principalmente, pelo fato de que as relações humanas estão migrando de forma muito intensa, para as plataformas de convivências online, como redes sociais e grupos de mensagens. Dessa forma, grande parte das agressões que eram cometidas de forma presencial está sendo praticada também pela internet. As pesquisas brasileiras realizadas até a presente data, não abordam o cyberbullying enfatizando a compreensão do nível de incidência entre a população e suas possíveis causas. Ao analisarmos a literatura existente sobre o cyberbullying, constatamos que grande parte dos trabalhos realizados no país têm priorizado análises qualitativas. Sendo assim, colocamos como objetivo da nossa pesquisa, realizar um inventário da prevalência do fenômeno cyberbullying entre alunos de três escolas do município de Ipatinga/MG, duas da rede pública e uma da rede privada. Quanto à incidência do fenômeno entre os participantes da pesquisa, podemos destacar que entre os 318 participantes, 172 alunos, 54,09%, responderam ter cometido algum tipo de cyberbullying. Entre as vítimas destacamos que 192 participantes, 60,38% dos 318, responderam ter sofrido algum tipo de cyberbullying. Sobre o cyberbullying relacionado ao tipo de escola, observamos o envolvimento mais elevado entre os estudantes das escolas públicas, 80,6%, em contrapartida, tivemos um percentual significativo de vítimas na escola privada, 65%. Em relação ao sexo e suas ligações com o cyberbullying, observamos que meninas e meninos não se distinguem muito quanto ao envolvimento como agressores, mas as meninas apresentaram uma pequena diferença como vítimas. Sobre o cyberbullying e suas relações com cor/raça, podemos observar que a participação em percentual, tantos dos agressores como as vítimas estiveram representados entre as raças com igual proporção na nossa amostra. Isso pode indicar que não há diferenças significativas dessas cores/raças no envolvimento com o cyberbullying. Sobre as relações entre escolaridade dos pais e cyberbullying, podemos observar que o percentual de envolvimento em agressões online aumenta quando a escolaridade dos pais e mães é maior. Mães e pais com Pós-graduação tiveram seus filhos com uma pontuação maior como agressores e vítimas.Cyberbullying is a phenomenon that often stands out in Brazil, in the media news, in the newspapers and even in conversation circles among friends. This phenomenon arouses our interest, mainly due to the fact that human relations are migrating in a very intense way to online socializing platforms, such as social networks and message groups. Thus, most of the aggressions that were committed in person, are being practiced, also over the internet. Brazilian research carried out up to the present days does not approach cyberbullying the understanding of the level of incidence among the population and its possible causes. When analyzing the existing literature on cyberbullying, we found that a large part of the work carried out in the country has prioritized qualitative analysis. Therefore, the objective of our research IS to carry out an inventory of the prevalence of the cyberbullying phenomenon among students from three schools in the city of Ipatinga/MG. Two of these schools are public and one is private. Regarding the incidence of the phenomenon among the participants involved in the research, we can highlight that of the 318 participants, 172 students, 54.09%, said they have committed some type of cyberbullying. Among the victims, we highlight that 192 participants, 60.38% of the 318, said they have suffered some type of cyberbullying. We observed that 80,6 of the students from the public school were involved in cyberbullying, in contrast, we had a significant number in the private school, 65% of their students were involved. In relation to sex and its links with cyberbullying, we observed that girls and boys are not very different in terms of involvement as aggressors, but girls showed a small difference as victims. Regarding cyberbullying and its relations with color/race, we can observe that the percentage of participation, both the aggressors and the victims were represented among the races with an equal proportion in our sample. This may indicate that there are no significant differences between these colors/races in the involvement with cyberbullying. Regarding the relationship between parents 'schooling and cyberbullying, we can see that the percentage of involvement in online aggressions increases when parents' schooling is higher.
