Resumo: A Faculdade de Direito do Recife (FDR), centro da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE), constitui um importante locus de memória, refletindo em suas diversas dimensões, seja na história, seja nos patrimônios culturais e científicos do Brasil. Ao longo de seus quase dois séculos de existência, a FDR acumulou um vasto patrimônio cultural, cuja preservação e disseminação representam desafios significativos, especialmente no contexto da salvaguarda de sua memória institucional. Neste sentido, a pesquisa constitui-se no panorama das atividades, iniciativas e projetos desenvolvidos dentro da FDR, incluindo esforços direcionados à preservação do seu patrimônio cultural e científico. Assim, temos como objetivo geral: Analisar a memória institucional da Faculdade de Direito do Recife e os mecanismos utilizados na preservação, organização e disseminação do seu patrimônio cultural e científico. Os objetivos específicos são: Apresentar a Faculdade de Direito do Recife como um espaço de memória, especificamente no contexto museal; Identificar mecanismos de preservação do patrimônio cultural e científico na Faculdade de Direito do Recife; Investigar o acervo, a estrutura e organização e administração de iniciativas voltadas para a preservação do acervo museológico da Faculdade de Direito do Recife. A justificativa tem por base o valor memorial e cultural de relevância que a FDR possui para a história, sendo de interesse coletivo o resgate e preservação dessa produção. A metodologia é de natureza qualitativa e exploratória, utilizando acervos arquivísticos, hemerográficos e bibliográficos relacionados à temática de memória e patrimônio, além de uma entrevista semi-estruturada com a responsável pelo museu da FDR. As considerações da pesquisa analisou que a FDR possui acervo salvaguardado pela biblioteca, pelo arquivo e pelo museu, sendo este último um local que necessita de uma maior atenção da gestão. Dessa forma, a pesquisa contribui para uma maior discussão em torno das práticas de preservação da memória institucional da Faculdade de Direito do Recife, bem como para que esse patrimônio seja disseminado.
