Macabéa e Ângela Pralini: uma escritura melancólica

The main point of this text was to visualize melancholy as a constant in the works of Clarice Lispector through the discourse of the characters and their narratives. To this end, a doctoral thesis was written. Thus, this work is based on the assumption that the works Um breath of life - pulsations and A hora da estrela, by the writer Clarice Lispector, carry in their language the ink of melancholy, which would be an unreasonable regret. In addition to the aforementioned texts, he also brought the Clarician tale Beauty and the Beast or the Wound too large as an elucidative form of studies about what is made as beautiful and what is made as ugly. Therefore, the objective was to understand how melancholy would be realized in the clarified works mentioned. To this end, the present text has devoted itself to the semantic load of the words body, speech and beauty. The methodology consisted of an analytical or critical reading of melancholy in the novels and short stories mentioned above. In this way, bibliographic and virtual research was used in order that the desired results could be achieved. Logical principles of reading and observation of the language used by the aforementioned Brazilian novelist were important tools to understand the multifaceted Clarician sense. The result of finding melancholy in the speeches of Ângela Pralini (study character of Um breath de vida - pulsações) and Macabéa (study character of A hora da estrela) was achieved once the parole of the characters in search of correlations was dissected with melancholy and it was also observed that the bodies of fictitious beingsreflect what theorists name as being exception subject.
