This research focuses on investigating the presence of the Pentecostal movement in the traditional quilombola community Sítio Alto, located 8 km from the municipality of Simão Dias/SE, a community that for a long time was influenced and represented “in the majority” by the Catholic religion, since we are talking about a quilombola community with African religious influences and contact with Pentecostalism - the object of study of this research. Through the presence of the Raíz de Jessé Vida Pentecostal Church, based in Minas Gerais, the process of conversion and/or abandonment of this community is notorious, as it gradually migrates from the Catholic religion and adheres to the principles of Pentecostalism. Furthermore, there have been many developments in Latin America, presenting itself in an increasingly diverse way to the point where some authors call it Pentecostalism. From then on, we investigate whether this transition in the religious model affects the way of life of these inhabitants, their habits and customs. As for the methodology of this study, it will be developed under a qualitative approach, as it aims to discuss the way of life of a people and also has an ethnographic character. To this end, we will adopt the following behaviors: listen, feel and observe behaviors, with the purpose of seeking to understand the dynamics of the appearance and intertwining with the culture of the Pentecostal movement in the Sítio Alto quilombo. At the present time, the type of research follows the descriptive mode, as it reveals characteristics of a certain population and, at the same time, it is also configured as participatory research, as it aims at the collaboration of residents of this location. As for data collection instruments, this proposal will use interviews carried out with the matriarch of the quilombo, D. Josefa e Maria, pastor of the evangelical Church. This way, there will be a rapprochement between the researcher and the interviewee.
