Throughout this research we deal with a specifically urban form in the city of Ituiutaba (MG), being the Green Urban Area, located within the scope of the Public Space and in the context of the Production of Urban Space. We understand our object as a hybrid, since it manifests the search for the representation of "elements of nature" through the treatment of vegetation and social appropriation in view of socio-spatial practices, therefore, the core of the concept, besides the functional, vegetation cover and local contexts, should be based on the public space itself, as the place of possibilities, the potentiality of action and meeting, through daily social practices. Relating these assertions to the current spatial conjuncture of society, we observe a dissonance between the appropriation and the constitution of the urban green, which has occupied a significant place in the political agenda of urban interventions in the most diverse scales of cities in Brazil and in the World. Thus, considering the spatiality of the concept, what is configured as an Urban Green Area for the city of Ituiutaba, comes from the accomplishment of the ecological / environmental, aesthetic / landscape, leisure / recreation, human health and environmental education ) together with the possibility of use that the contingent environment provides. For the city of Ituiutaba, until then a gap is established in the explanation of the Urban Green Areas, we seek to do so through research based on theoretical-conceptual assumptions to analyze them. Specifically we identify them from the field observation related to the concepts that guide the theme, we search the content of the form; we characterize them by considering the physical aspects, the way in which it presents itself within the urban structure and the accomplishment of its functions, here, in addition to the Urban Green Areas, also the Open Spaces that were removed after the filter, ; we evaluated them based on a previously adapted file from De Angelis; Castro; De Angelis Neto (2004), it being possible from this evaluation also to infer a range that indicates the contingent environment; we classify them according to the population contingency of the environment separated by children, adolescents, elderly and total population; Finally, we search for a synthesis of the work, we assign profile for Urban Green Areas in the city in a comprehensive scale, where we arrive at 3 (three) characteristically different classes. We believe that the present research carried out through the methodology proposed by us can be presented as an instrument for public management based on the understanding between the demand of the environment and the conditions of the Urban Green Areas, making it possible to better articulate the intervention projects, aiming at better use of resources and still making the benefits of the Urban Green Areas can be distributed in a more balanced way in the city's network, making use of its public space.
