O desafio da reprodução socioeconômica nos (re)assentamentos rurais: velhos problemas e novos conflitos

Environmental issues constitute a current topic and deserve attention especially when the conflict involves a reality. In this perspective, this work proposal lists environmental conflicts that involve the process that comprise the search for solutions to land issues in Brazil, seeking to identify elements that enable a perception for this type of conflict from the perspective of social organization and the use of natural resources by settled and resettled families. The empirical basis that guides the study is the (re)settlement Urucum, located in the county of Corumbá, Mato Grosso do Sul. We chose this resettlement because of its two important features. The first respect to the population of this settlement which is composed of 61 families who have gone through a process of land conflict linked to implementation of dams in the state of Paraná and for 26 families benefited from the program of Agrarian Reform of the federal government, which gives this settlement a particular individuality, both in relation to settlements conventional about the resettlement of people affected by dams. The aim of this study was to analyze the emergence of environmental conflict around water, in the context of the project (re) settlement Annatto-MS in the city of Corumbá. This study examined the occurrence of new clashes permeated by the limitations productive, economic and social problem with water in Urucum that families still brings residing in the locality. The chosen methodology was the study case, application of specific techniques, use of questionnaires, semi-structured interviews and processing of data collected in the field through the application scientific Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).
