Os sentimentos que surgem nas mais diversas situações desconfortáveis e conflitantes contribuem para a formação emocional dos sujeitos. Entretanto, nota-se que nas sociedades moderna e pós-moderna o ser humano parece desejar abster-se de sua condição humana. A ciência moderna e a biotecnologia oferecem um cardápio de produtos eficientes para o alívio imediato das dores humanas, sejam elas físicas ou emocionais. Compreende-se o corpo humano como um complexo orgânico e adaptável aos mais variados tipos de substâncias, e essas potencialidades são exploradas pelo sistema biomédico, que auxilia o homem no que parece ser seu objetivo: A medicalização da vida. A mercantilização do sofrimento e dos corpos humanos tem impulsionado o sujeito social na busca por fármacos que o auxiliem na promoção da harmonia de sua psiquê. A psicanálise toma seu lugar nesta pesquisa trazendo a baila, a predisposição do indivíduo em permanecer no princípio do prazer e se abster do princípio da realidade. Na ausência de promover para si a satisfação almejada, em razão da repressão social, resta ao sujeito a evitação do desprazer como forma de alcançar a constância do prazer. Considera-se como desprazer os sentimentos e sensações que causam sofrimento psicológico e físico. Este trabalho tem por objetivo explorar as consequências da medicalização das experiências humanas na contemporaneidade. Quanto à metodologia, a pesquisa tem caráter bibliográfico, utilizando-se de uma revisão das principais obras de especialistas no assunto.This work stems from the need to discuss the abusive use of medications in contemporary times as an object of relief for suffering. The feelings that arise in the most diverse uncomfortable and conflicting situations contribute to the emotional formation of the subjects. However, it is noted that in modern and postmodern societies the human being seems to wish to abstain from his human condition. Modern science and biotechnology offer a menu of efficient products for the immediate relief of human pain, whether physical or emotional. The human body is understood as an organic complex and adaptable to the most varied types of substances, and these potentialities are exploited by the biomedical system, which assists man in what appears to be his goal: The medicalization of life. The commodification of human bodies and suffering has encouraged the social subject in the search for drugs that help him promote the harmony of his psyche. Psychoanalysis takes its place in this research bringing up the subject, the predisposition of the individual to remain in the pleasure principle and abstain from the principle of reality. In the absence of promoting the desired satisfaction, due to social repression, the subject is left to avoid displeasure as a way of achieving the constancy of pleasure. It is considered displeasure the feelings and sensations that cause psychological and physical suffering. This work aims to explore the consequences of the medicalization of human experiences in contemporary times.
