Resumo: This work is focused on the development of two dual-band parabolic antennas based on frequency selective surfaces (FSS) applied to radar and communications. We propose to apply the antennas in two distinct scenarios: radar system operating in the S- and X-bands; wireless communication link in the C- and Ka-band. The antenna named DBPA-RAD was idealized to attend the radar system, whereas the DBPA-COM is aimed to wireless communication system. The antenna development has been divided into five phases: analytical design; numerical simulations; prototype manufacturing; characterization; antenna implementation in real systems. The two pieces of programa ANSYS HFSS and TICRA has been utilized for the numerical simulations. The experiments have been carried out at the WOCA Laboratory (Wireless and Optical Convergent Access) from Inatel and CNIT laboratory (Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni) from Scuola Superiore Sant?Anna in Pisa, Italy. The DBPA-RAD has presented a bandwidth wider than that the radar (40 MHz) and gain up to 24.5 dBi for both frequencies. The DBPA-COM has presented bandwidth and gain up to 3.38 GHz and 39.7 dBi, respectively. In the radar experiment, we have detected real non-cooperative aerial targets in both S- and X-band, simultaneously. The communication experiment implementation, demonstrated dual-band point-to-point link, in the C- and Ka-bands, with throughput up to 8 Gbit/s.

Vislumbra-se aplicar as antenas em dois diferentes cen?rios: sistema radar operante nas bandas S e X; enlaces de comunica??o nas bandas C e Ka. Implementa-se a antena denominada DBPA-RAD para atender o sistema radar e a DBPA-COM para o enlace de comunica??o. O desenvolvimento das antenas foi dividido em cinco etapas: projeto anal?tico; simula??es num?ricas; fabrica??o; caracteriza??o dos prot?tipos e implementa??o das antenas em sistemas reais. Utilizou-se os programas ANSYS HFSS e TICRA para a realiza??o das simula??es num?ricas. J? os experimentos foram conduzidos no Laborat?rio WOCA (Wireless and Optical Convergent Access) do Inatel e no laborat?rio CNIT (Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni) da Scuola Superiore Sant?Anna de Pisa na It?lia. A DBPA-RAD apresentou banda superior ? demandada pelo radar (40 MHz) e ganho de at? 24,5 dBi nas duas bandas de opera??o. J? antena DBPA-COM apresentou largura de faixa e ganho de at? 3,38 GHz e 39,7 dBi, respectivamente.
