Resumo: The Brazilian model of resource utilization from biomass can be considered as a reference as a replacement for the energy mix. Amongst them, ethanol has been shining through as an increasingly bio-energy source mainly in the fleet of vehicles. Such incentive has been sedimented throughout four decades since the first oil crisis with the implementation of PROALCOOL Program until the development and application of the dual-fuel vehicles known as flex-fuel vehicles that today represent roughly 90% of sold vehicles. The present work is going to search and identify the existence of a relation among the automobile production indexes, the increasingly ethanol production and the variable macroeconomic indexes INCC (National Civil Construction Index), the IPCA (National Prices Index for Consumer) and the IGP-M (National Prices Index for Market) that are widely known and well recognized by the government, entrepreneurs and population. It was used the multi-varied regression and correlation technique with SPSS software support. The results suggest that there is a correlation among low macroeconomic indexes and increasingly automobile and ethanol production.

Dentre eles o etanol vem se destacando como uma fonte de bioenergia cada vez mais utilizada, principalmente na frota de veículos, tal incentivo vem sendo sedimentado ao longo de quase quatro décadas desde a primeira crise do petróleo com a implantação do PROALCOOL até o desenvolvimento e a aplicação da tecnologia de carros bicombustíveis conhecidos como veículos flex, que hoje representam aproximadamente 90% dos automóveis vendidos. O presente trabalho buscará identificar a existência de uma relação entre os indicadores de produção de automóveis, o aumento de produção de etanol e as variáveis macroeconômicas pelos índices de INCC, IPCA e IGP-M que são amplamente conhecidos e reconhecidos pelo governo, empresários e população. Foi utilizada a técnica multivariada de regressão e correlação com auxilio do oftware SPSS.
