We have come to the trajectory of afro-brazilian religious practices and places from the observation of growing process of masculinization of afro-brazilian religious practices, in the city of Porto Velho (RO), this work makes some approaches of gender, violence and power. The hypothesis has been based on the observation of an increase of men occupying the positions of priests, and the claim of the women regarding the distribution of tasks in the temples, which led to think about the existence of gender violence. The objective of the research was to analyze the relationship between the process of masculinization of the leaders and the intensification of gender violence. The work of field research was carried out with the observation to public rituals, internal activities of religious houses and semi-structured interviews with priests and priestesses and followers. We moved through the trajectory of afro-brazilian religious practices places trying to understand the transformations that have taken place, probing on the existence of gender violence, which are, and how to lay down in the spaces of religious practices understood by temples, houses, Iles, Backcountry, Centers, Backyards and other denominations.
