The aftermarket services linked to the Brazilian automotive sector featured mainly in the maintenance and repair mechanical workshops represent an important segment of this productive chain. A series of environmental impacts are associated to the activities of mechanical workshops. As well as in other modalities of service provision, the environmental management practices are not often widely disseminated in this segment. The object of this research was settled from de motivation of the work done by Jabbour et al. (2012) who explored the influence of the environmental management in the operational performance in the auto parts segment of the Brazilian automotive sector, reinforced by the study of Suramoniam (2009), which has recommended understand the comprehension of this premise in the aftermarket automotive segment. The defined guiding question to the development of this dissertation refers to: how adoption of environmental management practices in the automotive repair workshops in the S??o Paulo city contributes to the organizational performance of this sector of services? This question intend to test the Porter and Van Der Linde (1995) hypothesis, who claim that the adoption of environment management practices tends to generate a win-win process, where both the environment and the organizational performance of the companies would be favored. This exploratory and of quantitative nature research aimed as main objective identify the existing causality relationships between the Organizational Performance (DO) and the Environmental Management (GA) practices implementation in Automotive Vehicles Repair Workshops. As research an instrument structured questionnaire with statements arranged on a Likert type scale applied to the Workshops owners of S??o Paulo city. The PLS-SEM- Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling was the multivariate technique used to analyze the 267 valid questionnaires. It was verified that the relationship between the construct Environmental Management (GA) in and the construct Organizational Performance (DO) presented results that demonstrate the sample s adherence to the causal model proposed. This research can contribute to the vehicles maintenance and repair mechanical workshops segment to perform a self-evaluation of the current stage regarding application of Environmental Management practices and the situation regarding to Organizational Performance and as instrument to improve these processes, through the use of the Annex A questionnaire.
