Resumo: This research is linked to the Master's Program in Education, from the University Nove de Julho (PPGE/Uninove), specifically, to the Research Line Popular Education and Cultures (LIPEPCULT). The research project proposed for this master's degree concerns the way in which the training of school managers has taken place today, exclusively, in what are called Pedagogy courses. In this sense, its development was guided by some questions, namely: has the initial training of the school manager / director been adequate or sufficient for the exercise of his performance at school? Does it respond to the skill and competency requirements required to exercise this role? Has the training offered by Pedagogy courses guaranteed the development of basic requirements for the training of school managers? This research had as general objective to analyze the formation of the school manager in the Pedagogy courses. The objectives were: to understand the different concepts that permeate the role of the school manager, among them: general and school administration; school management and management; democratic and participatory; analyze the practice of the school manager in the dimensions: pedagogical management, administrative management and people management; examine curricular matrices of the Pedagogy course, offered by some public and private universities in the capital of the State of São Paulo. In this study, it was analyzed from a qualitative research, of bibliographic and documentary type, what the theoretical scholars of the area and the national guidelines indicate about the formation, responsibilities, competences and the role of the school manager regarding the demands that arise in the position of school principal / manager. The researches that deal with subjects related to the administration, school administration and democratic management gave support to the elaboration of this investigation and reinforced the quality and efficiency necessary to the education and as a consequence, they emphasized the importance of the existence of a participative democratic management inside the schools, aiming at an education that values the relationships that take place in the school context, in which the subjects are co-responsible in the participation of the investigative process of the difficulties that present themselves there. It was also evident that the Pedagogy course does not guarantee academic training for the exercise of the function of the school manager in its entirety, which can be justified by the recommendations explained in the current educational guidelines. With that, it was understood that there is much to be investigated and discussed with regard to the training of school managers.

El proyecto de investigación propuesto para este máster se refiere a la forma en que la formación de los directores de escuela se ha desarrollado, hoy, exclusivamente en los denominados cursos de Pedagogía. En este sentido, su desarrollo estuvo guiado por algunas preguntas, a saber: ¿la formación inicial del gerente / director escolar ha sido adecuada o suficiente para el ejercicio de su desempeño en la escuela? ¿Responde a los requisitos de habilidades y competencias requeridas para ejercer este rol? ¿La formación que ofrecen los cursos de Pedagogía ha garantizado el desarrollo de requisitos básicos para la formación de los directores de escuela? Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo general analizar la formación del director escolar en los cursos de Pedagogía. Los objetivos específicos fueron: comprender los diferentes conceptos que permean el rol del administrador escolar, entre ellos: administración general y escolar; gestión y gestión escolar; democrático y participativo; analizar la práctica del director escolar en las dimensiones: gestión pedagógica, gestión administrativa y gestión de personas; examinar las matrices curriculares del curso de Pedagogía, impartido por algunas universidades públicas y privadas de la capital del Estado de São Paulo. En este estudio, se analizó a partir de una investigación cualitativa, de tipo bibliográfica y documental, lo que señalan los estudiosos teóricos del área y los lineamientos nacionales sobre la formación, responsabilidades, competencias y sobre el rol del director escolar en la demandas que surgen en el puesto de director / gerente de la escuela. Las investigaciones que abordan temas relacionados con la administración, administración escolar y gestión democrática apoyaron la elaboración de esta investigación y reforzaron la calidad y eficiencia necesaria para la educación y en consecuencia, enfatizaron la importancia de la existencia de una gestión democrática participativa dentro de las escuelas, con miras a educación que valora las relaciones que se dan en el contexto escolar, en la que los sujetos son corresponsables en la participación del proceso investigativo de las dificultades que allí se presentan. También fue evidente que el curso de Pedagogía no garantiza la formación académica para el ejercicio de la función de director escolar en su totalidad, lo que puede justificarse por las recomendaciones explicadas en las directrices educativas vigentes. Con eso, se entendió que queda mucho por investigar y discutir con respecto a la formación de administradores escolares.Esta pesquisa vincula-se ao Programa de Mestrado em Educação, da Universidade Nove de Julho (PPGE/Uninove), especificamente, à Linha de Pesquisa Educação Popular e Culturas (LIPEPCULT). O projeto de investigação proposto para este mestrado diz respeito ao modo como tem ocorrido a formação do gestor escolar, hoje, exclusivamente nos denominados cursos de Pedagogia. Nesse sentido, o seu desenvolvimento foi norteado por alguns questionamentos, a saber: a formação inicial do gestor/diretor escolar tem sido adequada ou suficiente para o exercício de sua atuação na escola? Ela responde às exigências de habilidades e competências requeridas para o exercício desta função? A formação oferecida pelos cursos de Pedagogia tem garantido o desenvolvimento de requisitos básicos para a formação do gestor escolar? Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo geral analisar a formação do gestor escolar nos cursos de Pedagogia. Os objetivos específicos foram: compreender os diferentes conceitos que perpassam a função do gestor escolar, dentre eles: administração geral e escolar; gestão e gestão escolar; democrática e participativa; analisar a prática do gestor escolar nas dimensões: gestão pedagógica, gestão administrativa e gestão de pessoas; examinar matrizes curriculares do curso de Pedagogia, ofertadas por algumas universidades públicas e privadas da capital do Estado de São Paulo. Neste estudo, analisou-se a partir de uma pesquisa de cunho qualitativo, do tipo bibliográfica e documental, o que os teóricos estudiosos da área e as diretrizes nacionais sinalizam a respeito da formação, responsabilidades, competências e sobre o papel do gestor escolar quanto às demandas que surgem no cargo de diretor/gestor escolar. As pesquisas que abordam assuntos referentes à administração, administração escolar e gestão democrática deram suporte à elaboração desta investigação e reforçaram a qualidade e eficiência necessária à educação e como consequência, ressaltaram a importância da existência de uma gestão democrática participativa dentro das escolas, visando a uma educação que valoriza as relações que acontecem no contexto escolar, na qual os sujeitos sejam corresponsáveis na participação do processo investigativo das dificuldades que ali se apresentam. Ficou evidente ainda que o curso de Pedagogia não garante a formação acadêmica para o exercício da função do gestor escolar em sua totalidade, o que pode ser justificado pelas recomendações explicitadas nas diretrizes educacionais atuais.
