Resumo: | Sustainable development is no longer just a set of philanthropic actions undertaken for the good of the community but instead it enters definitely on the agenda of business strategy. According to the definition of sustainable development it is possible to point out that technology and science are factors that provide the ability to better understand our natural systems and that technology and social organization can help to manage and improve processes to a new era of economic growth. Information technology (IT) can be seen as a discipline that works on sustainable development in a negative way, which is a consumer of natural resources. However, IT also provides tools and systems that help reduce effects on the environment, with consequences that reach also the social and economic environment. Organizations which seek market differentiation by orientation of sustainable approach composes sustainable stock market indices that make performance monitoring of economic, social and environmental which should be observed by these companies and incorporated into their selection criteria of projects portfolio. Considering the importance of sustainability in the current context and especially in information technology, this work seeks to identify the criteria for sustainable IT that are used in selecting the portfolio of infrastructure projects of information technology in organizations that support sustainable development. Goal is to identify and understand the criteria for green IT in the academic literature that are used in the selection of project portfolios of information technology, especially those facing the infrastructure segment. Projects of information technology can be seen as sources of new competitive advantage in activities automation and as to decrease the variations of the results of production processes. This feature has increased the number of IT projects placed for the evaluation of companies that go beyond the physical and financial ability to undertake them, requiring a process of selection that is always connected to the strategic dimension and has defined criteria for such. Portfolio management methods have been developed to answer the question of which projects have to be selected. Focus of this study looked at the literature of portfolio selection criteria that can be applied to both categories of infrastructure projects. Method used in this work is the case study, characterized by qualitative assessment. Selected organizations should be engaged with sustainable development and therefore it is used as a criteria for choosing organizations whose shares comprise sustainability indexes such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and the ??ndice de Sustentabilidade Empresarial. Results achieved show that from eighteen criteria for Green IT identified in literature research, ten can be validated as effectively able to distinguish projects. It was also identified that criteria for Green IT are used along with technical assessments, but are not considered as decision points. Research pointed that cost and performance outweigh sustainability as drivers of decision. |

A tecnologia da informa????o (TI) pode ser vista como uma disciplina que atua no desenvolvimento sustent??vel com um aspecto negativo, no qual ?? consumidora de recursos naturais, mas que por outro lado propicia ferramentas e sistemas que auxiliam a reduzir efeitos sobre o meio ambiente, com consequ??ncias que alcan??am tamb??m o ambiente social e econ??mico. Organiza????es que buscam diferencia????o no mercado pelo conte??do sustent??vel comp??em ??ndices de bolsa de a????es que fazem o acompanhamento do desempenho dos aspectos econ??micos, sociais e ambientais, que devem ser observados pelas empresas e incorporados aos seus crit??rios de sele????o de carteira de projetos. Considerando a import??ncia da sustentabilidade no contexto atual e em especial na tecnologia da informa????o, este trabalho busca identificar os crit??rios de TI sustent??vel, utilizados na sele????o do portfolio de projetos de infraestrutura de tecnologia da informa????o em organiza????es que suportam o desenvolvimento sustent??vel. O objetivo desta pesquisa ?? agrupar os crit??rios de TI verde na literatura acad??mica, utilizados na sele????o de carteiras de projetos de tecnologia da informa????o, especificamente aqueles voltados para o segmento de infraestrutura. Projetos de tecnologia da informa????o apresentam-se como fontes de obten????o de vantagem competitiva ?? medida que automatizam atividades e diminuem as varia????es dos resultados de processos produtivos. Essa caracter??stica tem aumentado a quantidade de projetos de TI colocados para a avalia????o das empresas, que extrapolam a capacidade f??sica e financeira de empreend??-los, sendo necess??rio um processo de sele????o que sempre esteja ligado ?? dimens??o estrat??gica e que tenha crit??rios definidos para tal. M??todos de gest??o de portfolio foram desenvolvidos para responder a quest??o de quais projetos selecionar. O foco deste estudo buscou na literatura especializada crit??rios de sele????o de portfolio que podem ser aplicados ??s duas categorias de projetos de infraestrutura. O m??todo utilizado neste trabalho ?? o estudo de caso, caracterizado por avalia????o qualitativa. As organiza????es selecionadas devem estar engajadas no desenvolvimento sustent??vel e para tanto utiliza-se como crit??rio de escolha organiza????es cujas a????es componham ??ndices de sustentabilidade como o Dow Jones Sustainability Index ou o ??ndice de Sustentabilidade Empresarial. Os resultados alcan??ados apresentam que dos dezoito crit??rios de TI Verde identificados na pesquisa bibliogr??fica, dez podem ser validados como efetivamente capazes de distinguir projetos. Tamb??m foi identificado que os crit??rios de TI Verde s??o analisados juntamente com as avalia????es t??cnicas, por??m n??o s??o considerados como pontos de decis??o.
