This thesis has an objective to conduct an exploratory study on IT projects involving the adoption of Cloud Computing and based on it to find elements regarding the structuring of these projects. We used the theoretical framework associated with project management, project management and it strategy and it projects and cloud computing, focusing on the management of an integrated solution and its life cycle and the provisioning of services with high added value. From the literature developed in the first part of the work, it was prepared thirteen study assumptions that formed the basis for the development of seventeen questions that were applied in field research with three companies (in different sizes and segments) using Cloud Computing. The goal was to evaluate aspects involving executive support to these projects, the choice of cloud providers; cost reduction, maintenance services after completion of the project; adherence of the model for the purposes of the organization; impacts on project management; outsourcing; organizational changes; engagement between different organizational levels; identify guidelines that can be used for different projects involving cloud computing. The methodology used in this study was based on the method of multiple case study through which the information picked in the companies were analyzed together and in a crossed way, making possible the most robust identification of project management aspects associated with cloud computing. Empirical evidence suggests that in fact there are specific concerns that the project manager should be aware when dealing with cloud computing. Furthermore we suggest guidelines that can be used to structure an IT project involving Cloud Computing.
