Resumo: | Planning systems based on digital tomographic images allow the surgeon to select the most adequate sites for placement of dental implants, considering the specific anatomic characteristics of patients and the bone structure of areas of interest. Though very important, the transference of computerized planning of implants to the surgical site is still hardly accurate. This study was conducted on 11 human dry mandibles to compare the planned position and angulation of dental implants and the results of procedures performed, considering the accuracy of virtual planning performed on the relationship with digital CT images obtained after implant placement. Superimposition of images of planned dental implants on the final images was processed on a computer for evaluation of the distances and angulations in relation to the implant long axis. Application of the Student’s t test for comparison of samples with zero reference value revealed statistically significant difference for the linear and angular measurements analyzed, indicating the need of further studies to investigate the applicability of this new technical routine in the clinical practice of Implantology. |

A transferência do planejamento de implantes realizado em computador para o campo cirúrgico, apesar de muito importante, permanece como um procedimento difícil de ser executado com precisão. Nesta pesquisa, realizou-se um estudo comparativo entre posição e angulação planejadas para implantes dentários e os resultados obtidos após a execução dos procedimentos. Para isso, utilizou-se 11 mandíbulas humanas secas, levando-se em consideração a precisão do planejamento virtual realizado. A sobreposição das imagens dos implantes dentários planejados sobre aquelas do que foi executado, recebeu processamento computadorizado e, então, avaliação quanto às distâncias aferidas e às angulações em relação ao longo-eixo destes implantes. Ao se aplicar o teste t de Student para comparar as amostras com um valor de referência zero, verificaram-se diferenças estatisticamente significativas para as medidas lineares e angulares analisadas, indicando a necessidade de estudos complementares que verifiquem a aplicabilidade desta nova rotina técnica na prática clínica de Implantodontia.Made available in DSpace on 2011-12-27T14:14:16Z (GMT).
