Although the relationship between health, spirituality and religiosity is present in the daily life of patients and hospitals, it is complex and crosses problems that tend to be treated under reductionist point of view. In this research, the issue is to examine communication approaches in the light of a semiotic epistemology. The hypothesis is that Peirce s idea of sign action in communication and the universal phenomenological categories can provide inspiration for the model of integration of the dimensions of being - health, spirituality and religiosity to the health sciences. The study has three objectives: creating a mapping of concepts, motives and relationships; apply Peirce s universal phenomenological categories to the reflection on the fields of research, and promoting the development of a practical model, based on semiotic communication, called the Medicine of SER . The theoretical framework is the thought of C. S. Peirce, because his work allows the discussion of the interrelationship of science and religion, especially through the phenomenology, ie the theory of categories, and through the theory of signs, object of semiotics. The method involves: description of concepts, historical overview of current reporting, presentation of case studies aimed to the field of communication, application of universal categories in the development of a reflection on the fields; development of a transdisciplinary model of implementation. In conclusion, as the application of the theories of Peirce enabled the development of a model of practice in health (Medicine of SER) applied in the areas: assistance, teaching and research in the IPQ-HC FMUSP, it is said that the hypothesis was confirmed. The proposed model integrates the spiritual and religious dimensions in a transdisciplinary approach which, based on semiotic processes-communication, addresses needs of survival and transcendence of the human being
