Resumo: This study aims to analyze how the art of dancing has been use to bring back the autonomy and as a resource of empowerment for older people in the society. For this, as a metodological procedure it was used literature systemic review for the survey of brazilian academic productions, master´s and doctoral dissertation and scientific articles in the period of 2000 to 2015, using the keywords: dance, ageing, elderly and old age. It was found 160 scientific productions; of these, 21 are on the CAPES‟s database; 19 in BDTD; 20 in BVS; 82 in the Biblioteca Digital Vérsila; and 18 in Google Scholar. Of the 160 productions, we selected 32 (7 doctoral dissertation, 13 master‟s dissertation and 12 articles), mainly performed by physical therapists and physical educators, and 26 of them are in the health sector and only 6 in the humanities. Most productions were held in public institutions in the South and Southeast regions of the country. Of the 32 identified productions, 21 were made specifically by women, four by men and 7 by women and men together, and the largest number of publications occurred from 2011. A large portion of the publications used dance as a measurement instrument, ethnographic and therapeutic resources. Although the dance is used in most studies as the measuremtne instrument, it was observed by the researches not only as a non-pharmocological strategy to aid in the treatment of diseases or functional gains, but as an opportunity to redeem the quality of life of the practitioners as they acquire greater body awareness, understanding of self and the environment, having the feeling of well being and pleasure during and after practice. In the studies using dance as an ethnographic resource it was observed that the art of dance being worked prioritizing the social reintegration and positive self image, enabling the exercise of citizenship, the concept of autonomy and empowerment of the elderly without the stereotype that makes the old commonly , what is " sick and limited." Thus, this perspective allows visibility and optimization of mature bodies in dance, simultaneously expanding the universe of dance and oldest person in the process of ageing better

Thus, this perspective allows visibility and optimization of mature bodies in dance, simultaneously expanding the universe of dance and oldest person in the process of ageing betterEsta pesquisa teve como objetivo geral analisar como a arte da dança vem sendo trabalhada no resgate da autonomia e no empoderamento das pessoas mais velhas na sociedade atual. Para isso, utilizou-se a revisão sistemática de literatura a partir do levantamento de produções acadêmicas brasileiras: teses, dissertações e artigos científicos, sobre o envelhecimento na dança, no período de 2000 a 2015. Foram levantadas 160 produções científicas; destas, 21 encontram-se no banco de teses da CAPES; 19 na BDTD; 20 na BVS; 82 na Biblioteca Digital Vérsila; e 18 no Google Acadêmico, a partir das palavras-chave: dança, envelhecimento, idoso e velhice, nessa ordem, sendo um guia fundamental para a pesquisa. Das 160 produções, selecionou-se 32 (7 teses, 13 dissertações e 12 artigos), realizadas por fisioterapeutas e educadores físicos principalmente, sendo que 26 delas estão na área da saúde e apenas 6 na área de humanas. A maioria das produções ocorreu nas regiões sul e sudeste do país e em instituições públicas. Das 32 produções identificadas, 21 foram realizadas especificamente por mulheres, 4 por homens e 7 por homens e mulheres em conjunto, e o maior número de publicações se deu a partir de 2011. A maioria das publicações utiliza a dança como instrumento de mensuração, recursos etnográficos e recursos terapêuticos. Apesar da dança ser utilizada na maior parte das pesquisas como instrumento de mensuração, é vista pelos pesquisadores não apenas como uma estratégia não farmacológica para o auxílio no tratamento de patologias, ou ganhos funcionais, mas como uma oportunidade de resgatar a qualidade de vida dos praticantes, que adquirem maior consciência corporal, compreensão de si e do meio, proporcionando bem estar e prazer durante e após a prática. Nas pesquisas que utilizam a dança como recurso etnográfico, encontramos a arte da dança sendo trabalhada, priorizando a reintegração social e a autoimagem positiva, possibilitando o exercício da cidadania e resgatando a autonomia e o empoderamento do idoso, sem o estereótipo que se faz do velho, doente e limitado. Tal perspectiva permite visibilidade e valorização dos corpos maduros na dança, ampliando concomitantemente o universo da dança e da pessoa mais velha no processo de um envelhecer melhorCoordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superiorapplication/pdfhttp://tede2.pucsp.br/tede/retrieve/40381/Adriana%20Silva%20de%20Souza.pdf.jpgporPontifícia Universidade Católica de São PauloPrograma de Estudos Pós-Graduados em GerontologiaPUC-SPBrasilFaculdade de Ciências Humanas e da SaúdeDançaEnvelhecimentoVelhiceDanceAgeingElderlyCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::SERVICO SOCIAL::SERVICO SOCIAL APLICADOO envelhecimento na dança em revisão, 2000 a 2015Ageing in dance under review: 2000 to 2015info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações da PUC_SPinstname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)instacron:PUC_SPTEXTAdriana Silva de Souza.pdf.txtAdriana Silva de Souza.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain170614https://repositorio.pucsp.br/xmlui/bitstream/handle/19499/4/Adriana%20Silva%20de%20Souza.pdf.txt08ce2273df2e6d5fab56959266f29408MD54ORIGINALAdriana Silva de Souza.pdfAdriana Silva de Souza.pdfapplication/pdf843240https://repositorio.pucsp.br/xmlui/bitstream/handle/19499/2/Adriana%20Silva%20de%20Souza.pdf84d8b7d27f1051272225536e4693f8b8MD52LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
