Resumo: | The importance of conducting this work is the fact that for the last 14 years, that I have been working in the São Paulo SESC, I have accompanied (in practice and through the literature pertinent to the topic) the repeated observation that longevity in times of globalization brings important challenges to societies and the subjects, among which highlights to create and/or keep conditions that favor, permanently, the update of their vital potential. Thus, the starting point for its achievement was the hypothesis that permanent education can be an instrument of fundamental importance to meet this challenge. In this perspective, its overall objective was to investigate, on one hand, the ability to building dialogue about the Social Work Program with the elderly (TSI) and São Paulo SESC and the social context in which it operates and, on the other, the impact of their socio-educational actions on the lives of 24 subjects. Among the specific objectives, stood out: identify methodologies that meet the specific demands of the elderly in contemporary times and involving more broadly society as a whole; to open space for the elderly themselves speak of their experience of ageing in the context of the TSI socio-educational actions (with special attention to the way these signify to them, why they request them and the importance these mean in their concrete life); to reflect on the relationship between elderly education and exercise of citizenship. With regard to research methodology, this dissertation included a literature review on the topic (Chapters 1 and 2) linked with a field research (Chapter 3). The option for multiple case studies is justified, considering that the data were collected in three different units of São Paulo SESC: Bauru, Consolação and Itaquera. Proceeded in such a way that each one was formed as an individual case study whose results were subsequently crossed with the ones of the other units. The results of the analysis fulfilled point, considering the sayings of the elderly themselves, for the highly positive impact of social-educational activities of the TSI in the life of the same. It was concluded, yet the relevance and appropriateness of the methodology used (community or group action) in compromise solution this Program with an emancipatory education. In addition, some proposals could be made to strengthen the set of actions proposed. With respect to the TSI dialogue with the current global context, that the integration matches, with the help of technology tools, being extended beyond the regional/national. Under even group activities, which radicalize the size of dialog, implementing procedures that favor the elderly is to listen to or hear in her voice their aging experience. The data indicate that, thus, would open space for them to contribute to demystify, in speeches that circulate socially, the dichotomous representation about old age. It is understood that the inclusion of this intuitive knowledge in practice can unfold and encourage, the field of science, the consolidation of transdisciplinary approaches, helping to address the ageism in globalized societies |

Nessa perspectiva, seu objetivo geral foi o de investigar, de um lado, a capacidade de diálogo do Programa Trabalho Social com Idosos (TSI), do Sesc São Paulo, com o contexto social no qual se insere e, de outro, o impacto das suas ações socioeducativas na vida de 24 sujeitos. Entre seus objetivos específicos, destacaram-se: identificar metodologias que atendam as demandas específicas de idosos na contemporaneidade e que envolva de um modo mais amplo, o conjunto da sociedade; abrir espaço para que os próprios idosos falem de sua experiência de envelhecimento no contexto das ações socieducativas do TSI (com atenção especial para o modo como as significam, porque as procuram e a importância que adquirem na sua vida concreta); refletir sobre a relação entre educação de idosos e exercício da cidadania.No que diz respeito à metodologia de pesquisa, esta dissertação contou com uma revisão bibliográfica sobre o tema (capítulos 1 e 2) articulada com uma pesquisa de campo (capítulo 3). A opção por estudos de casos múltiplos se justificou, tendo em vista que os dados foram coletados em três diferentes Unidades Sesc de São Paulo: Bauru, Consolação e Itaquera. Procedeu-se de tal modo que cada uma se constituiu como um estudo de caso individual cujos resultados, posteriormente, foram cruzados com os das demais Unidades. Os resultados da análise realizada apontam, tendo em vista os dizeres dos próprios idosos, para o impacto altamente positivo das atividades socioeducativas do TSI na vida dos mesmos. Foi possível concluir, ainda, a pertinência e adequação da metodologia utilizada (ação comunitária ou grupal) na solução de compromisso deste Programa com uma educação emancipadora. Além disso, algumas proposições puderam ser feitas no sentido de fortalecer o conjunto de ações nele propostas. No que diz respeito ao diálogo do TSI com o atual contexto globalizado, a de que os encontros de integração, com a ajuda de ferramentas tecnológicas, sejam ampliados para além do regional/nacional. No âmbito ainda das atividades grupais, que se radicalize a dimensão da dialogicidade, implementando procedimentos que favoreçam aos idosos escutar-se ou escutar na própria voz a sua experiência de envelhecimento. Os dados indicam que, assim, se abriria espaço para que os mesmos contribuam para desmistificar, nos discursos que circulam socialmente, a representação dicotômica sobre a velhice.
