Resumo: | This research aims to analyze the interaction between three objects of study: the experience of trance, Pentecostal myths and the religion itself, the Pentecostalism. Based on the question ifthe trance experience can be considered an expression of the physical body of the religious myth, I seek to analyze the phenomena of glossolalia(speaking strange languages), possession and ecstasy. In order to contextualize the ecstatic experience into a religious symbolic reality, the theory of the symbolic universe elaborated by Berger and Luckmann (2014) intertwines with the works of Jung, Durkheim and Campbell, about the relations of myth and the society that is built through their narratives. To study the trance experiences cited, I analyze the myths of Pentecost and the Devil, considering in addition to the bibliographical research the discourse of the faithful and the treatment given in the cults, gathered in field research. The study of these myths goes through two new theologies - Prosperity and the Domain - which give support to new forms of behavior in the Pentecostal environment. This change of posture is also represented bythe way trance experiences are experienced, giving more roomto the intimacy between subject and divinity, than to the role of the Enemy. Finally, as counterpart ofthe presence of an Enemy, the work analyzes the role of Hero, evidenced by this new Pentecostal composure, and its practical consequences from a warlike ideology, given by the mythical Holy War |

Tendo como base a indagação se a experiência de transe pode ser considerada uma expressão do corpo físico do mito religioso, busco analisar os fenômenos da glossolalia(o falar línguas estranhas), da possessão e do êxtase. Para contextualizar a experiência extática a uma realidade simbólica religiosa, a teoria de universo simbólico elaborada por Berger e Luckmann (2014) se entrelaça às obras de Jung, Durkheim e Campbell, sobre as relações do mito e a sociedade que se constrói através de suas narrativas. Para estudar as experiências de transe citadas, analiso os mitos de Pentecostes e do Diabo, considerando além da pesquisa bibliográfica o discurso dos fiéis e a tratativa dada nos cultos, colhidos em pesquisa de campo. O estudo desses mitos atravessa duas novas teologias –da Prosperidade e do Domínio –que dão sustentação à novas formas de comportamento no meio pentecostal. Essa mudança de postura se reapresenta também na forma de como as experiências de transe são vivenciadas, dando maior espaço a intimidade entre sujeito e divindade, que ao papel do Inimigo.
