This paper aims to analyze the perception of egress wives under home violence who are sheltered at Casa Abrigo Mãe da Mata (Forest s Mother Home Shelter) in Rio Branco, State of Acre. By rebuilding and remaking their histories, ways and deviances I try to understand how the actions of the State have helped them take back the meaning of their lives. I use as contribution the feminist reference point to comprehend how women s fight were historically formed by several demands, among them, the problem of conjugal violence which used to be confined in the domestic place so then it would take public visibility. I search in the analysis of public policies that were thought and implemented for women how they may acquire specifics that cover social and cultural context in which women are immersed. By increasing the description of specific policies that fight against violence in Acre, I opted to report some actions from the view point of women organization that were settled along the last years, although the focus was not on violence itself, as it was an strong organizational movement that were relevant to subsidize intervention and local policies. So that could happen, qualitative techniques were applied, interviews with eleven women under violent circumstances, interview with the staff from the Home Shelter, analysis of internal documents, crime reports, and others. This exposition aims to mark and recognize that there has ever been, throughout history, the presence of women in the fight and resistance against oppression and domination. However, the search showed that from the standpoint of relations still considered in private scope, that is, in conjugality, such relation of domination is not recognized as a relation of forces, and if that is not understood, it will be accepted as something inevitable, thus, it is natural
