Resumo: | The present work aims at analyzing the repercussion caused by the Santo André 1998/2001 Citizen Family Minimum Wage PMSA (SP) Program (the Program ), into the lives of a group of families that have taken part in the Program from the standpoint of such families history track. In order to tackle this research, we attempted to delineate the scenario in which the purpose of our work evolved, upon the changes introduced to the worldwide capitalism over the last decades which also reverberated in Brazil and the main challenges such changes posed relative to the social protection and regulation frame. We also presented the evolvement of the Brazilian Wage Transfer Programs, resumed the PRMSA-FC outline and presented the favelas hub/territories where PRMSA-FC has been implemented. By way of documentary research and interviews, we rebuilt the history track of each participating family in three distinct moments: (i) at the inception of the Program (1998-2000), (ii) at the termination (1999-2001) and at present (2007). In order to seek possible manifestations of social inclusion, the analysis has been performed taking into account tree basic premises: (i) social inclusion/exclusion, (ii) territory and citizenship and (iii) human development and autonomy |

Para abordagem de nosso objeto de investigação, buscamos inicialmente esboçar o cenário onde se move o nosso estudo por meio da análise das principais mudanças operadas no capitalismo mundial nas últimas décadas, situando o rebatimento destas mudanças no Brasil e os principais desafios colocados por estas no âmbito da proteção e da regulação social. Apresentamos também a evolução dos Programas de Transferência de Renda no Brasil, retomamos o desenho do PRMSA-FC, situado no município de Santo André e apresentamos os territórios/núcleos de favelas onde ele foi implementado. Por meio de pesquisa documental e de entrevistas, reconstruímos as trajetórias das famílias estudadas expressas em três momentos diferentes: o da entrada no Programa (1998-2000), o do desligamento (1999-2001) e o momento atual (2007).
