Resumo: This academic production discusses the implications of work, as we know it at present days, with emphasis on the dimension of its signifiers for the contemporary subject. It is structured through a bibliographic research that proposes, in the light of complex thinking, to revisit important theories that reflect on such activity, in different academics areas of knowledge. Therefore, it considers as a starting point the notion of Human Condition proposed by Hannah Arendt, in 1958. It seeks to contextualize part of her phenomenology today in order to demonstrate the relationship between work and the uneasiness experienced today – which can be consolidated in the The Burnout Society proposition, postulated by Byung-Chul Han in 2010. To this end, this dissertation has as its panorama some transformations that occurred in the world of work that indicate a discursively constructed Ideology on such activity, from modernity to the present day. At last, what it shows is the need to find another form of meaning for human dignity, as the future ahead indicates the radical idea of a society without work

Estrutura-se por meio de uma pesquisa bibliográfica que se propõe, à luz do pensamento complexo, revisitar importantes obras que refletem sobre tal atividade, em distintos campos do saber. Considera, portanto, como ponto de partida a noção de condição humana proposta por Hannah Arendt, em 1958. Busca contextualizar parte desta fenomenologia na atualidade a fim de demonstrar a relação entre o trabalho e o mal-estar vivido na atualidade – que pode ser consolidada na proposição de Sociedade do Cansaço, postulada em 2010 por Byung-Chul Han. Para tal, esta dissertação tem como panorama algumas transformações ocorridas no mundo do trabalho que indicam uma Ideologia discursivamente construída sobre tal atividade, desde a modernidade até os dias de hoje.
